Team

Our team of dedicated and passionate specialists.

History

Our roots go deep into the floodplain of the river Waal near Nijmegen. At the beginning of the 20th century, in the little town of Lent, the first clay was dug and turned into substrate by adding peat. New substrates have been developed through the years using other types of raw material.

Lentse Potgrond substrates were soon being transported over greater distances, and a production site on the waterfront was selected to facilitate the growing supply of raw materials.

Slingerland Potgrond also arose from the need for substrates, specifically for the horticultural industry in the western part of the country. Slingerland Potgrond has made a difference through the years by providing the best quality, something which eventually led to them becoming the largest supplier of orchid substrates.

Following the merger between Slingerland Potgrond and Coöperatief Tuinbouwcentrum Lent, the two businesses began a very intensive practical collaboration, each under their own brand name, until 2009 saw the merger with Horticoop. Despite this, the need remained to stay close to our origins, that is to say: substrate.

Lentse Potgrond and Slingerland Potgrond will continue together in 2019 under a single name: Lensli. This rebranding will result in clarity and enhanced efficiency, so that we can position ourselves more effectively in a quickly changing market.

Our expertise in substrates, coupled with our enthusiasm, innovation, drive and passion for our product have all come together under one roof. Lensli represents a single brand, a single management and a single goal: growth – for our customers and ourselves. It is our ambition to be a market leader in terms of innovation, with a strong focus on providing service at competitive prices.

Have Fun Growing.

Ambition | Vision

We are enthusiastic and customer-oriented. We are proud of the quality of our substrates, and it is our ambition to provide our growers with ingredients that will contribute to their success, both now and in the future.

Lensli intends to respond quickly to the latest developments, and grow through innovative solutions and techniques. Lensli strives to be a market leader in high-quality substrate, combining superior service provision with competitive prices.

DURABILITY

We are doing everything possible to ensure sustainable growth, both now and in the future.

Lensli carries the European RPP (Responsibly Produced Peat) certificate for extraction at the Hörle Torv production site. In the near future, 80% of the peat extracted will be RPP-certified.

Thanks to the addition of new raw materials, the proportion of recycled raw materials in our total production is now 30%. We will continue to work actively to ensure the sustainability of all elements of our production and transport lines.

We also calculate the environmental impact of all our products in order to enable us to implement improvements.

QUALITY

The quality of our products is key to the success of our customers, so we are careful to retain full control of the entire process, from extraction, through production to logistics. All our products are checked and registered in our laboratory. All Lensli substrates carry the RHP label and are ISO-accredited.

RHP label

Lensli supplies all of its substrates under the RHP label. Safe. The entire chain is monitored, from production process through to user. Clean. RHP-certified substrates are produced with the greatest of care. Their phytosanitary cleanliness is checked to make sure that they are free from harmful organisms and diseases. Quality Assurance. Substrates carrying the RHP label meet the most stringent standards, for example, in terms of storage and continuity. Low-weed Substrates carrying the RHP label are low in weed seeds. Research/knowledge centre. Innovative research has proven that our substrates meet various quality requirements. Arrangements made between the grower and substrate supplier are checked on the basis of specifications. Chain control Under the umbrella of the RHP label, all raw materials and substrates are checked from extraction through to delivery to the customer. Risks are limited in terms of structure, hygiene, storage and transport. Everything is documented and quality is assured.

ISO

Lensli is ISO 9001-2015-certified for potting soil and substrates. The new ISO 9001 standard impacts quality management, including standards for compliance obligations as well as strategic and operational processes among other things. Contents of new NEN-9001-2015 standard

Chain control

All raw materials and substrates, from extraction to delivery to the customer, are checked under the RHP quality mark. All risks are limited when it comes to structure, hygiene, storage, transport. Everything is documented and the quality guaranteed.
